In thinking about the end of the current year and the start of the next a thought came to me. We are heading into the year 2020. The phrase 2020 in our culture refers to a person’s vision health or detail with which they can see. As we pass into this new year, I pray for a greater spiritual ability to both See and Hear what is going on in the kingdom. That we will do as Jesus did and do those things we see the father doing and speak those things that we hear him saying.
Clearer vision. Detailed understanding. The ability to perceive and discern. May God give us vision that we may live and prosper. May we see from the vantage point of heaven. May our eyes be set firmly on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, May we run with endurance the race that is set before us (Heb 12:1-2) and having put our hands to the plow, never look back (Luke 9:62).
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law. (ESV)
